Watch Your Wallet Get Fatter After Boosting Your Conversion Rate Using These 6 Tricks

Would you be excited if I told you there was something wrong with your site?

Probably not. But actually you should be ecstatic when someone lets you know how to improve your site.

Do you know why?

If you make a few simple changes you will start to make more sales.

I think you could boost the conversion rate of your sales pages and opt-in forms by doing some things differently.

We’re going to look at what you need to change if you want your wallet to be too heavy to carry from now on.

The sidebar shouldn’t be there

I’m definitely not saying you shouldn’t have a sidebar on your blog, but you shouldn’t have one on certain pages. Any important page where you want someone to do something has to be reserved for the call-to-action.

Take a look at your sidebar and you will see how many things there are for people to click on. When you give someone too many options they are going to click on something other than your call-to-action.

Add sexier testimonials

You should definitely see if you can use some sexier ones on your sales page.

  • That means you should have someone’s photo and also their name.
  • The actual testimonial should be longer than a few sentences and you can stick it inside a nice box.

Test a sexy one against a plain-looking one and you will see they convert a lot better.

Don’t be afraid of more opt-in forms

You shouldn’t be afraid to stick more opt-in forms on your site. By now you should have figured out getting email addresses will make you more money, but you might be a bit hesitant to use more opt-in forms in case you scare people away. Don’t worry about annoying your visitors because they really won’t care.

You obviously shouldn’t go overboard, but having more than a few opt-in forms scattered around your blog is a good thing.

Use a bigger buy-now button

If people can’t see your call-to-action they won’t be able to buy your product.

Some people only have a small one at the bottom of their sales page and making it bigger would increase their conversion rate straight away.

You can also test out adding more buy-now buttons inside the same sales page because some people don’t want to read your copy. They would rather just buy your product, so having the buy-now button near the top would stop them from clicking away.

The blog shouldn’t be your homepage

If you call yourself a blogger you might still be under the impression a blog is a business. It’s only a marketing tool you use to sell more products, so you have to set the site up like a proper business.

I know you love having the blog as your homepage, but think about how many people land there every day. Wouldn’t you prefer to use a special landing page as your homepage so you can get more people to give you their email address?

A sales page should be easy to find

If you are sensible you shouldn’t have too many products for sale because having a few main ones will make you more money. If you only have one or two sales pages on your site you need to make sure they are easy to find.

When I say they should be easy to find I mean they should be displayed in front of your visitors all the time. At the very least, every important page on your site should be one click away from a sales page.
